My neighbors growing up had one of these for a number of years. It was the first car for both of their kids and was pretty beat up by the time they retired it.

That whole lineup is awesome. There’s a 69 LeMans on Honeycombs, 74 Malibu Classic, a Big Bumper Checker, 1970-73 Maverick and a Beetle.

Are we sure it’s not a Skyhawk? I always liked that design. Those cars have almost completely disappeared. It’s probably easier to find a Tucker.

I am not sure. And, I was just wondering if there were any left on the planet. I’m not sure there was anything even remotely remarkable enough about them to keep them around.

They were turned into dragsters fairly often, but yeah, there was no real reason to save a stock one. I actually went to look at one a few years ago, but it was a little too rough for my tastes. I thought it would make a distinctive daily driver, but I’d rather have a Pacer which is weirder.

I should think it would be a heck of a lot easier to find a Pacer. I don’t think I’ve seen one on the road in 30 years.

I’ll have to look up sales numbers for each of them. I would think they sold more Monzas than Pacers, but, yeah, there are plenty of Pacers still out there. I’ve actually owned 10 of them. Prices for good Pacers are rising though.
